Mount Harriet
Mount Harriet, stationed at 55 km by road and 15 km by ferry from Port Blair is the highest peak (365 m high) in South Andaman. Its natural charm and beauty attracts a lot of visitors. From the top of the peak, one can get a magnificent view of the Port Blair city, the Ross Island and the Havelock Island.
Ferry or taxi service is available from Chatam wharf to Bamboo flat. From here vehicles can be taken to reach Mt. Harriet. Trekking up to Madhuban through a natural trail allows you to get a glimpse of rare endemic birds, animals & butterflies.
An overnight stay at the guest house there will be great to experience the beauty of the night in the hilly land. But for staying overnight, permission of the warden at Port Blair is required.
